Need advise on my 500 Quest
#1
I have a 2004 Bombardier 500 Quest. It seems to hesitate when you select a gear when first starting up and some times when changing directions. Any one experienced this? Any suggestions? It seems the dealership where I bought has quit handling the ATVs and can offer no assistance. So far I've not found a dealership / service center anywhere close to me.
Thanks for any advise you could give.

Thanks for the response. I mean changing from forward to reverse or back and it seems to be worse cold or when first started. It seems to be better when you depress the brake to shift but coming from a Honda to this, I'm having to learn how to best make it perform.
So far I'm very pleased but I know I'm going to have to break some old habits and learn how to get the most from this bike. It is only used recreationally with some occasional trail rides that get pretty steep some times. Took me a while to realize you can't climb much with it in High gear!
Thanks again for the come back!

I would guess that its probubly part of this machines little quirks. I dont own one so Im not sure but I would think it just needs to warm up to work smoothly. And it also makes sense to me that it works better with the brake on. Hopefully someone who owns one, will see this thread and reply.

Thanks! I'll go with that but hopefully someone with experience can lend a hand and some suggestions to go along with mine and your best guess.
I appreciate the input. What you say makes sense.

Thanks a bunch Matt. Not having experience with the Bombardier ATVs, I was concerned. I've had the water craft and been impressed with the quality and durability but haven't learned the ATV line yet.
Again, thanks for the advise.
