air box ?'s

No. Logic would tell me that without an airbox, the filter is able to get air from all sides a lot easier as it flows through the bike. With the aribox, it still needs to come up over the sides of the box and down in. If you do go with either, definately use an outerwear.

Hi eRo,
I have run three different combinations all with the K&N filter and outterwear skin in place.
Stock with air-box
Cut off entire top of air-box ... dumb Alba Trick
and
Completely removed airbox each one affected flow, power and tuning.
So to answer you question ....
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
" do u think a air-box with no lid breathes the same as no air box??? "
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No.
Each modification changes the characteristics of air flow to the filter and thus positive pressure to the carb and engine.
I think if you do a search "OldManRacing" has done extensive testing on this and has come up with pretty good results as to the best configuration for both sand and mud type areas.
Do a search as oldmanracing has helped a lot of us out....Thanks OLDMAN
