Default High Speed Gearing

I want to run higher speeds on my DS. I have a stock motor, and I want to change the sprockets. I don't even know what stock is.
1) What are stock sprocket and coutner sizes?
2) More teeth= higher top end, right?
3) Anyone have any extras?

On my '05 stock gearing was 16/40. More teeth on the Countershaft sprocket is higher geared. The rear sprocket is always opposite. Less teeth is higher geared. I don't think you can get a DS sprocket with less than 40 teeth but I could be mistaken. I have never tried. If you install 22" tires, that will gear you up some to if you haven't already.

17-37 was installed on a DS that won the BAJA 2000. I have this same gearing (that I sometimes run with 22's" in the rear) and it's scary fast!
You'll have to purchase a new Case Saver (On Dunes Performance) or grind on your OEM to get the 17 to fit. The stock chain will work without modification.
I believe that Sprocket Specialists has what you need.
