I'm tired of hearing myths about the raptor putting out up to 60 horses, and how its the fastest machine out there.
Yes it may be light and have a standard trans. but in power and torque comparison it does'nt have much more than the scrambler has had for the last five years.
If you want to read the REAL facts heres the address to main topic about "RAPTOR vs. SCRAMBLER 400"

I have never heard anyone claim 60 horses out of their raptor.

It was someone earlier when the raptor first came out.
Don't think I'm trying to bash on the raptor I give yamaha credit for making a machine of that stature.
But, when I start hearing about outragious claims of the raptor destroying everything in it's path, I had to get the facts striaght.

You've got your facts a little mixed up in your thread. The power levels quoted are for the Raptor at the rear tires and the Scrambler at the crankshaft....

BIG difference. This is why stock 400 Scramblers have a difficult time dealing with even a stock 400EX.

Rear tire horsepower for 400 Scrambler

I dust cheap Scramblers with my 400Ex, wouldnt waste my gas on them with my Raptor b/ they are no match!! That only shows about 24hp in the crank. ha ha adn the Polaris weighs alot more. So you just proved how lame your polaris is.

I find it hard to believe that the scramblers horsepower peaks out at 38mph? The machine can reach 70mph. But for going 38mph, 25horses sounds pretty good.
On the next dyno you do make shur that the machine is toppin' out before you let off the throttle.

If you saw the most the scrambler was ran for was until 38mph at 24 horses.
At that rate the polaris was warming up!!!
Your right my polaris is cheap........about $2000 cheaper.LOL.
