Default 450R and YFZ prices outrageous

I went to both a Honda and a Yami dealer today to look at the 450R and YFZ. I was told around $8,000 OTD for each....that is ridiculous! A stock machine for 8Gs?! Maybe the LTR-450 will be worth that, but a YFZ and 450R need at least $1,500 in a pipe, extended a-arms, and an adjustable axle to handle some competitive riding. I'll just keep rebuilding my 250R if these new bikes demand that kind of $$$. Im sure I'll get some replies to this thread that tell me to stop complaining, but does anyone else think these new bikes cost WAY too much?

Check MSRP, your dealer is just bending you over. Find another one...

around here they are $5999 otd.
shop around and all town near you, not just down the road, and you should find a better deal.

You should be able to get either one between $6000-$6500 easy. If you have to order one from a dealer out of state instead of buying from those nutjobs.

You can get them cheaper. I got mine for $7000 OTD and they were really pushing for like $7600.. I even got them to throw in a helmet for half price. There are ways to work these people.

I bought my 2006 Honda TRX450ER on November 1, 2005 at Abernathy's Honda for $5814. They are located in Union City TN. abernathyonline.com

You should never pay more then MSRP even with sales tax......Don't fall for the "freight/set up fee".... A Yamaha dealer told me there is about 6 hrs labor assembly/set up time for each quad LOL, total BS.

My Saturn dealer said it would be an hour labor to replace a seatbelt, took me 10 minutes.

If you buy a cycle trader you'll see them for a lot more reasonable prices. They have brand new 05 450r's for 4999 plus tax, and ive seen yfz's as cheap as 5399. Great prices check the trader!

yeah $8000 is a total rip off and way over msrp. take a drive to a different dealer- even if it is in another state. it will save you thousands. go to lakehillmotors or abernathys and there are others. i never paid MSRP for any of the bikes ive bought and i never will.
