What kind of gas to use
#1
I was wondering what kind of gas you Kodiak owners put in your quads. The dealer told me to use regular but i'm curious to see if you guys think super would be of any value. Thanks in advance for your replies.

Your dealer is correct. Most new vehicles, whether cars, trucks, motorcycles, or quads, do just fine on 87 octane pump gas.
The sole reason to use fuel with a higher octane rating, is to prevent pre-ignition (knocking). Unless you install a high compression piston and other top end modifications, such as a high-lift cam, save your money and go with the 87 octane gas. It's all you need.

Have you guys ever heard of Methanol??
It's cheaper than gas and produces more horsepower, it is less likley to catch fire, it's better for the air than gas is, and it produces a better fuel efficiency. Also Indy racers use it. I heard the gas stations don't use it because they wouldn't make as much money. Some gas stations provide Methanol. It may be avaliable in all gas stations in the next 5-10 years.
