Since the Cal. DMV won't give me a green sticker for my Raptor, the dealership says I must give it back, and they will give me a new Cal. legal Raptor. This is good, because I now get another new Raptor. The bad thing is that the Cal Raptor won't be as fast.

Never yet. I was considering putting a green sticker from another bike I don't ride anymore on it, but, that would probably be the time I would get checked especially if one of the Raptors in the area happened to get stolen and they were checking vin# against the stickers of all Raptors coming into a park. So, I'm going to do it the right way, and get a legal Raptor and put pipes and arrestors on it to get the extra H.P. Unfortunately the dealership won't be getting one in until mid to end November and I have to start the "breaking in" period all over again.

California Raptors have gobs of smog emmision controls that make the exhaust cleaner but rob the ATV of power. This is easily remedied by after market exhaust systems, which everybody puts on anyway so the EPA's strict emmision controls are a moot effort.

Nothing against Claifornia, but I live in PA. I love it because there are no stickers or anything. You ride whatever you want to.
Ride on!

I think you are getting a LOT of mis-information. There is no Calif. only Raptor. I have a green stickered Raptor and there is no emission stuff on it whatsoever. Did you look at the VIN # like I told you in my other reply? Go back to the DMV and make them give you a green sticker.

I agree with Maynard. I purchased my Raptor used from a guy in Nevada who got it out of Idaho and CA gave me a green sticker on my first visit to the DMV. My Raptor is no different than a freinds who purchased his in CA. Good Luck!

I am revising my ealier statement. There IS a Calif. model Raptor. I just spoke with my dealer, Mission Yamaha in Laguna Nigel. The model number for Calif. Raptors is YFM660RNCL. He said CL stands for California. He told me Yamaha is insisting that the Calif. Raptor is a GREEN sticker OHV. I called the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and was told that the 8th digit of the VIN determines whether it is a green or red sticker. If the 8th digit is a "3" or a "C" it is a RED sticker. Otherwise it is a GREEN sticker. My Raptor has a "Y". I don't know what Dinocrisis has, he has not replied yet. It may be possible he has a non Calif. bike. Did you buy it in Calif? Why would a Calif. dealer sell a non Calif. bike? How about it Dinocrisis, what is the 8th digit of your VIN???

You are correct, the 8th # in my vin# is "3". This bike was originally supposed to go to Hawaii. I wonder how much less HP the Cal Raptors have? Thanks for investigating.
