Looks somewhat similar, well, actually identical! I had written the seller asking to be preapproved and have yet to recieve a response. Not a bad price though, wish me luck. Arseoles.

Yes the $19 listing is pure and simple fraud. Don't send the scum a penny.
Here is the Real ad and the stolen ad. They are identical other the fact that one is just a scam to steal your money.

The seller blocks all bidding.
The seller wants you to contact him outside of ebay's system so that ebay can't see the fraud taking place with multiple people.
He says he will accept $2500.
If he allowed bids the bids would climb to $8-$9K.
It's just too hard to get someone so send $9K up front with only a 10-20% savings from new.
It's easier to get 10 sucker to send in $2500 in advance then to get one guy to pay in full at auction prices. People are willing to take a chance if the price is so low.

I'm surprised people actually fall for this stuff. I've listed a dirtbike and a quad and got the typical " I'll pay your asking price, my agent ACCIDENTLY made the cashiers check out for twice the amount so please cash the check right away and wire me the difference immediately, I'll send my agent to pick up your (insert here, horse, bike, car, atv) on Saturday".........these scammers are so stupid they sometimes forget to fully edit their e-mails....
If you think this is bad, check out the "russian" dating scams. I once had a response to a personal ad I placed on match.com and it was a really hot russian babe who only had internet access at a cyber cafe a few times a week, sent me a bunch of sexy pix but I was immediately suspicious because of the way the email had looked "edited"....not that I'm into the international dating scene anyway, but they seem fairly compelling to the right person I guess. I never corresponded with her but went to a link on a website that said something about dating scams, started reading through some of them and sure enough, this chick's email and pix show up all over the place, she had taken men for thousands of dollars.
Caveat Emptor...........bottom line is if it looks too good to be true, it is.

That "chick" was probably a large, bearded guy named Yuri.
The scams continue to work due to basic greed. You can find many, many threads with links to various scams on these pages in this forum. Even though the general topic is about the FACT that the posted ATV is a scam, there are always several posters who figure that they can still manage to get a cheap quad from these sites - they think they will not get taken because they are alerted to the fact that it's a scam. Their own greed overrides the fact that there is no deal - because there is no quad for sale - it does not exist except as a stolen picture in cyberspace. The scammers count on the fact that there will always be some people who are willing to send them some money as long as it looks like the price is a very low percentage of the normal value.
The scams work for any item - since no 'merchandise' is needed all the scammers need is to find a group with a common interest in their product and they can count on getting a few hits. You can't get much different in product than ATV's and Russan brides, unfortunately only the ATV scams will guarantee that you'll get screwed.
