Default Maier plastic question

My dad just ordered me a set of black maier plastics for christmas, and I have a question about them. Do they have already have a hole in them for the reverse ***, if not I would like not to put one in there and get the dr. d reverse lever. I also want to know what you guys think about this idea. I want to powdercoat my frame, wheels, hubs, a arms, and swing arm all gloss black. Then get a chrome axle, and polish my motor, along with a few little billet accent features.

It really depends on the kind of riding you plan to do. I have found that riding in mud and on the trails will ruin a paint job pretty quick. Every time I painted somthing on my old Warrior a few months later it looked the same. If you ride in the sand all the time it might help to keep that paint job looking new. As for me it is the funtion of the quad and not the looks that I worry about. Your new plastics will also help alot but will soon get scratched up as the old. Good luck.

i do beleive i have the exact set-up your looking for, check my pics. and let me know how the maier plastics are compared to stockers, i heard they were a little flimsy and were as stiff as teh stock ones or fullbore.

Default Maier plastic question

I have black maier plastics on my raptor. The hole is there for the reverse ****.

They don't fit as good, the front grille is butt ugly, it had molding defects, it came with english hardware instead of metric which is a pain, it's flimsy and shows scratches much easier. I paid $300 from rocky mountain atv.

Next time I will spend the extra money and get stock plastics or full bore. I have seen them both as low as $450 for a complete set.

I painted my frame during the last rebuild. It looked nice for one trip. Now it looks like it did before. It was a waste of time.

The color combo you are talking about sounds really cool though.

CTracingraptor that is pretty close to what I want. If you don't mind me asking, is powdercaoting the frame expensive. I am thinking about doing mine.

I had a LT250R frame powdercoated flat black at san diego for $125, so expect to pay somewhere around that.
