A friend and I were wondering "does the 400Xplorer have the same primary clutch spring as a SP500?" I changed to a green on my SP and he's contemplating changing his, but doesn't really know what color he's got right now. The mechanic says it's the same as a Scrambler...I don't think that's right...doesn't seem to hook-up fast enough.

On my 96 it was a blue\green

stock on the Xplorer is a blue/green spring.I installed a green one on my 00 Xplorer and MAN it woke right up.On the two strokes,the green spring seems to be the one most guys like,good luck,

I'm trying to talk him into a green one like on my SP500...can you imagine NOT modifying your four-wheeler??

 

Blue/green came on my Xplorer. Tried Green, but it seemed almost too severe for the type of riding I do so I tried a white one & never looked back.

 

I just put a HPD "plain spring" in my Scrambler. This spring is supposed to be between the Polaris white spring and green spring. I haven't got it jetted right yet after the stage one kit, so I can't really tell exactly how it feels, but it engages slightly higher than the Polaris white spring. It's a good comprimise if the green spring is too much for your conditions...
