as you may remember in my topic "Stop Deliver of all Sportsman500EFI", i had a # of problems with only 1-3 miles on my new ATV...i had her in TWICE for the problems. rode it quite a bit and thought things were fixed................................

WELL, GUESS WHAT?

Christmas Day (yesterday) i decided to take her for a good ride. almost EVERY time i came to a stop to shift from L-H or H-L, it stalled!

can't figure this thing out....i am almost ready to trade for something different.

am i the only one that owns a 500EFI with the repeat stalling problem or are all other owners just tollerating this DEFECT?

Probably should have kept your 700 efi untill all bugs are worked out of a 1st year model. I too wanted the 500 efi but got the 700 efi instead. Glad I did!!!!! Maybe you should use the lemon law and try to get your money back!!! It would be worth a try. After losing confidence in it , it will never please one. Just some thoughts.

When the dealer said that the clutch alignment was causing your stalling problem I was a little skeptical, because my clutch was out of alignment too and I didn't have any stalling problems. It sounds like something electrical to me. I have about 90 miles and about 15 hours on mine and it hasn't stalled one time on me. How many miles do you have on yours mtpockets? I hope they get this figured out for you.

have you checked you etc switch adjustment?
if you touch the throttle does it continue to run?
not actually give it enough throttle to make it change engine rpm......just checking the slack in the cable.....

there is an adjust ment on the throttle cable....make sure there is 0 slack in it......then try it again.....
if this doesn't fix it.....PM me.....I might be able to help.....
I am a Polaris Dealer.....
