Decide what brand you want to buy and then tell them what a-arms you have. They will tell you what shock will work best.

some a-arms are designed to use stock length shocks, if this is the case you can run YFZ's depending on how you ride. I would suggest getting them re-valved for your weight, set up and riding style or buy aftermarket shocks.

thats the deal on these ASR a-arms they say if u use stock shocks they will void the warrenty, which leads me to ask what would be better the cheapest works which are about 360 or a set of YFZ's and i guess getting them revalved where ever you get that done.

Austin, I have the ASR +3+1. I use them with the stock replacement Fox Float Shox. It is fantastic and pretty light. I broke one of my Fox shocks over Halloween at Glamis and Fox got them back to me by Thanksgiving under warranty.

While I was waiting for them I got some works tripples without the rez. Good shocks, though they are heavy and harsher in comparison to the floats.

I think you will be happy if you can get a good deal on the YFZ shocks and can get valved properly.

The ASRs combined with the Fox shocks is pretty hard to beat. I think they even help with the weight transfer to let my short 4" swingarm hook up better.

+3 is really, really wide. What does this do for you?

you can get works for what it will cost you to buy some YFZ's and then get them re-valved. If you already have YFZ's then just get them re valved and you will be set, and to top it off works is coming out with a double or tripple rate spring up grade for the YFZ shocks. I will be going that route since I already have some YFZ's once I am done I will post a report on the ride and handeling.

my suspension guy can get a set of yfz shocks to out preform a set of works triple rates with rezzies($515). just my two cents. thats why i'm having him put them on my raptor and not the works.

+3? Did you go this wide for stability, suspension travel? It seems like you'd hit stuff. What's the deal?

If you want, you can have your stock shocks revalved or put stiffer springs on them. I had the ASR +2+1 and they worked great. I went with Works trip rate and it really smoothed out the ride.
With the +3s it's going to be a little tight on some trails and maybe in the back of a pick-up truck.
