Latest rumors on new Grizzly?
#1
any updates or rumors on the new Grizzly for 07 or beyond? I'm selling our 02 Grizz because we are moving and I want to get rid of it before it's worthless. I told the wife I'd buy her a new 07 or 08 model when they came out IF it was the biggest baddest bike out! I'm hoping for an 880 v twin in 08 with YFI. An 08 880. That would be hard core
anyways, I'm bored at work today

dont hold your breath,,,,probably wont see anything concrete until July,or August,,,maybe even later,,,,theres no way they will make a anouncment like that this early in the year, and still expect a good year in sales in '06
if they do come out with a bigger bike, they will probably play it safe, and do the 700 EFI to make good on what they have invested in that motor, and wait til they bleed that market dry for a year or two before unvailing a 800,or bigger bike

I found out from a very reliable source that orders for the 06 Grizzly models have been haulted.
I was the one to ask him about the rumor on the internet of a new Grizzly coming out. I guess we will find out on June 25th.

The dealers meeting is always after the 1st week in June............If its true that they are limiting supply of the 06 this early then there would be a good chance that the 07 grizz will have some changes to it.
I would like to see it get at least a few upgrades and changes.
Have to wait til june to know whats fact and whats rumor.

I would think anything over an 800 V-Twin anymore is pushing the market for engines too far. Manufacturers need to stick in the 700-800 range and then work on all the other aspects of a great sport-utility, especially handling. Tell me this would not be a dream machine:
Bombardier 800 Rotax V-Twin Engine
Honda Rubicon Hondamatic Transmission
Bombardier Visco-Lok 4x4 System
Honda Rincon 680 Suspension and GPS System
Suzuki KingQuad 700 Brakes
.....to name the basics.......

Dont get me wrong its a great system in most conditions......just not in deep snow and loose rocks where you need diff lock from the second you start applying the throttle and dont want to have to spin your tires to get the front to full lock. In those spots if your spinning 3 tires for a second your sunk.

I am definately with you on the 700 EFI Thoghts. I am not sure I like the idea of something bigger than an 800. I don't know how other states work their classification, but here in Minnesota anything bigger than 800cc's is considered an ORV and not an ATV. That would greatly reduce the amount of trials you cold ride on as ORV's are not allowed on many ATV trails.

my guess is that they will use the raptor engine as well. this engine originated out of one of their european motorcycles. its a good engine, though they modded it for the raptor a little...
but hey, yamaha has a pair; they didnt bow down in the late 80's/early '90's and remove their sport lineup like the rest of the OEMs did. later, they came out with the raptor, surpised people. came out with the YFZ -surpised even more people. and then recently, totally redesigned the raptor which flew under the radar until its announcement. some suspected for years they would put the european engine in it oneday, but not this soon...with the efi...and to make all the changes they did to it and the yfz..you got to give them credit for that.
they may come out with a 800twin. they have the technology. theyve shocked people before. they always have something up their sleeve and they are not ashamed to reveal it either. but typically yamaha dosnt say anything until june/july about new models...sometimes later but not overwhelmingly often.
