Default Wrecked quads?

I was wondering if anyone knows what happens to all the quads that are wrecked each year? Is it possible to buy one for a parts bike? Where can I find more information?

You could ask your insurance company where they send them. A lot of them get sent to different auction companys. Some even auction them off online over a couple weeks run time.
Here are a couple in my area,
http://www.crashedtoys.com/
http://www.mrc-auctions.com/

I had bought a scrambler from mrc for the engine.

Yep, I insured mine thru my homeowners insurance. reasonable too. Covered my quad on the trailer, off the trailer, in the woods, in my garage. Covered all wrecks, wrecks w/other 4-wheelers,theft in my garage, fire, covered it all. Homeowners will NOT cover your 4-wheeler in your garage w/o this rider on your homeowners policy. I found it to be worth it! I have Farm Bureau insurance and my agent told me about this! Same goes for my Harley Homeowners will not cover. Always have had insurance on all my toys! (:>

wolfmanagh,
Thanks for the websites. I did talk to my insurance agent but he didn't know and didn't seem too interested in helping me out with this. I checked the web pages and do you know if you can have the items shipped or do they have to be picked up?

Thanks,

I believe they will assist you with shipping, but it is the BUYERS responsibility to arrange all shipping. Such as getting a shipping company to pick it up. Those places do help with loading on to a truck. I would recommend contacting them first to be sure.

Oh yea, most people don't realize that, but like UTU said, homeowners doesn't cover it. It needs to be covered just like a car. Theft, liability, property damage, all the good stuff. Think about it...this will never happen to anyone on this site, because we all know better, but you're out riding and you go over a hill. There's a family at the bottom having a picnic and you hit one of them and they break a leg or something. You are liable for that damage...most homeowners will not cover that.

Mrc-auctions.com is the way to go if you ask me. I bought a snowmobile and three four wheelers now from them and I have had a great time doing business with them.
