All,
Will a SP500 fit into a Chevy Colorado box. Will the gate shut? Too Heavy?

bombaman,

I think the SP 500 has more HP than the Colorado....Just Kidding

Can you drop a 4x8 sheet of playwood in there? If yes it should fit, you might have to drive over the wheel wells.

your going to be VERY close to the side of your bed, your probebly going to have to end up driving over your wheel wells to get it in, and then your rear tires are going to be ON the tail gate. little bit too small of a truck to be hauling a big quad in. your bed is in the area im 5 feet im thinking. the sportsman is 83 inches long, which translates into 6.9 feet so your going to have your tail gate down. i dont even know if with your tail gate down it will fit in. not to mention your truck is like... a 1/4th ton truck (850 pounds or so capability) which puts loading a sportsman in RIGHT at your weight limit. your probebly going to be nocking your bump stops going over bumps aswell. however this is all in theory cuz i dont know for sure, but i feel im pretty accurate.

This does present a problem. I'll go measure and post what I find. I did think the weight was damn close to the limit.

Watch the width. I thought mine was narrow enough to put in our old Dakota. Turns out, the wheels were just wide enough to leave grooves in the trucks wheel wells. Didn't hurt it too bad, but had potential of chipping paint in the bed.
