What type of tires should I get for my Recon? I ride on mostly mud, and a little bit rocks. I want the best traction, I can get. thanks

We use Sur Traks on our Recon, that quad now goes places where it couldn't before. You can reverse the direction of the tire for use in snow.

You should try GBC Dirt Devils. They'll get you any where you want to go and they are 4-ply and dont cost much. My friends got them on his trx250x and he has to try hard to get his stuck and he usaully cant get stuck.

'98 300ex--- FMF Performax pipe, K & N filter, Jetted Carb, skids all the way.

Swampers are kinda heavy. I had real good luck with Wooly Boogers. Stiff 4-ply but light. I could go thru better in ANY conditions. For a low priced alternative, Walmart usually carries Strykers. They seem to be pretty close traction wise and the 22's are actually 23 1/2" tall. They were $45 or so apiece.

I did a lot of research on tires for my Honda 300 quad, and I selected the GBC Mud Sharks. I like them so far although I haven't run them through a really good mud test yet.

I did put a small pinhole in one somehow but I added some Victor tire sealant/flat preventative to all 4 tires and haven't had a problem since. They make my quad A LOT EASIER TO HANDLE. Looking forward to using them during the hunting seasons.

BTW, I got them at treadepot.com. Ordered on Monday, arrived on Thursday. About $232 total, which included $8 per tire shipping UPS. Good luck!

I have the TSL's on my 400ex. I guess I like them but if you are going to ride on hardpack also, they seem to wear pretty fast. I had a set of PURE SPORT REALTORS on my 350x, they were great. They are a little heavy, but have great traction in the mud and wear like steel on hardpack. Never had a flat with the Realtors either, one of the SWAMPERS got poked right away. My next set for the EX will be Realtors.

For a recon you want to stick with something light.

Sur-traks would be perfect in my opinion. Very good mud tire, plus lightweight.

My blaster would still tear free the 22" ones i had on mine
