Default clutch info/ looking for power

My brother is looking to get some power out of his scrambler 500 for relatively cheap. We were going to put hot seat complete exhaust but after breaking the exhaust stud on my raptor he decided it was worth having to drill out the stud if it happened on his. What is the best slip on pipe (good low end with lossing topend) and does he need to by a clutch kit or just buy a better primary and better secondary? If he needs the clutch kit, what one is the best?
Any other cheap performance mods will help. Thanks.
Dustin

I woukld go with a matching set from one of the big Polaris companies like HPD, Aaen or Hot Seat Performance. I know this is a must for the higher R in a 2 stroke pipe.

Some guys like the white brothers Silencer.
Check ScramblerXrated and ftwflh 's profiles and mods.

Some 4 stroke scrammy guys will be on this soon.

Best slipon muffler on the market for a 500 Scrambler is the White Bros.
That and use either a Dalton blk/white or Polaris green primary spring and either a Aaen blue or HPD violet secondary spring set at 2-2.

ftwflh: so are you saying that all he needs is the primary and secondary springs and not to waste money on a clutch kit. My brother is wanting to be able to ride more aggressive (pull the front tires up every now and then if possiable) and doesn't want us to run off and leave him to much (mainly when we hit wide open areas). I ride my raptor, others ride 400exs, and one friend has a 700 kingquad. Is there any way to make the scrambler hang with a slightly moddified kingquad 700.

No matter what he does to his Scrambler you guys are going out run him on topend.
Depending on how much cash he wants to drop he can get a good response with just springs but
for best results a TEAM roller secondary and a dialed in primary clutch is best. The WB pipe will add more lowend but not topend. If he really wants more snap the HPD aribox mod is a good one too. When he decides what direction he wants to go cheap or all out let me know I will give him some more indepth tips then

I have been reading the heelclicker clutch post and he likes the sound of it. He is also going to the the HPD airbox mod. Is there a pipe that will add bottom and some topend or is the WB the best? He is intrested in any "bolt on" mods that will make a noticable difference (doesn't want to do motor work yet) What are some ideas you have for getting power out of the scrambler 500?
p.s thanks for your help so far.

I almost forgot, who has a good deal on the WB slip on, jets and airfilter and what jets do you suggest running (we live in Oklahoma)?

The WB doesnt need rejetted but when you do the HPD airbox mod it comes with a new jet and it seems to be on the money. As much trouble it is to get to the carb on the 500 I just adjusted mine by adding a couple discs to the muffler to lean it out a bit.

What all does the airbox mod do? It just looks like an aluminum top for the airbox. I think cutting a hole in the airbox and filtering the air through the hole before it gets to the filter would benefit more. It looks like clutch kits don't make that much of a difference (never here anyone talking about the helixs) just the springs; so what would be a good primary and secondary spring (for somewhat aggressive riding and some trial riding). can I buy weights any where? and what weight would go good with the springs you suggest?

The airbox mod is more than cutting holes.THe Polaris carb uses vacum to opperate.THe kit includes a modded main jet tube, new main jet,and a differant diaphram spring. All of this is tuned to the carb.
The reason you dont here much about helex changes is when you change a helex it can make or break your performance and if you are not a perfectionist you wont tell the differance.Plus with just a basic kit you get more (springs and weights)you get a more noticable gain.
For a aggresive clutch kit use a brown primary,10-56 weights and either a blue Aaen or violet HPD secondary.
