Where to get Maier plastic skidplates?

A quad that gets ridden in the So. Calif. desert needs a set of excellent skids! I run DG Baja full chassis and swingarm skids on all my big sport bikes. These things will save your frame/swingarm someday! Don't get the a-arm skids. They put weight way up front where it does the most harm, and in my experience they are just not necessary. Be sure to get a set of nerf bars while you are at it!

I run the Maier plastic skids on the littler bikes and the utilities (which already have pretty good underside protection to start with). Maier does NOT make a swingarm skid. But, if you want to stay ultralight (like if you do a lot of jumping or play riding), the Maier is the way to go. I think Chaparral and Rocky Mountain carry Maier (????).

I was planning to go plastic on the A arms and chassis, with a nice aluminum swingarm skid. I've heard good things about the plastic ones and I've never hit the a-arm's and frame that hard. i've only hit the swing arm on big rocks..

I just went throught the same experience and couldn't find a good picture. The one picture I found made it look like the frame skid didn't completely cover the frame. I ended up settling on the PRM 1/8" aluminum frame skidplate. I never run skids on the a-arms either. I am hoping to stick with the factory swingarm skid on the 450r since it will be limited to the mx track.
I am always amazed by the poor level of marketing done by manufacturers. Maier just doesn't recognize how much they have lost in sales from having a poor website and poor distribution channel. A top notch digital camera is less than $1,000. How hard is it to get pictures to post on a website.

You can buy them off the maier-mfg website since you saw the pictures elsewhere. Strange but the Maier website has the pictures for the 450r. Let me know how you like them. I could always sell my PRM used on e-bay.

Take a look at....WWW.ATVTIRES.COM...they sell," ARMORDILLO" plates.
They're made from high impact plastic and I have used them and they just glide over obstacles
and they're way quieter than aluminum or steel.
