Default 02 Prarie Fender Flares?

the black plastic that surrounds the motor and fenders keeps coming off or tearing. I've put new bolts, bigger washers trying to keep these things attached. Has anyone else had the same problem? How did you correct it? Is there new plastic that'll replace the covers behind the foot rails other than stock replacement?

I'm interested in seeing the replys on this one. I was in the same shoes with mine. I just ordered mine last week. All I was able to find was the oem replacements. I wander if cutting them off even with the floor boards might save them a little. Good Luck! Dennis

ok. my brother has a 02 650 prairie and he beat the fenders up pretty good. so i bought him new ones and new black pieces(fender flares, either side of floor boards). these tore just as fast the first ones he had. cold weather really does in the floor board ones, they dont really flex they tear. he to tried bigger washers and such but to the same results as you guys. beware buying those black pieces and hardware from kawi as those pieces cost as much as the main fenders. i was told by the dealer that alot of people just take them off after they break and trim the edge. thats about all you can do i guess. probably not what you wanted to hear.

Just do a search on cut plastics and try that. You end up with a better looking ride (sportier) and no more black plastic to tear. On the down side you lose a little mud protection but can now sling it further on your buddies.
