scrambler 400 2x4 weight
#1
Hey Guys~
What all did polaris change from 2000 to 2001 on the scrambler 400 2x4? The machine got a diet and lost 20 pounds somehow! Down to 481 lbs! It's kinda funny to think about if this machine lost another 20 pounds, it would be at the same weight as the DS650! Now just get it closer to 400 pounds and be more competative with the raptor! Sorry, I got a little off track, but what did Polaris change to drop the 20 pounds? Oh, by the way, my 1996 scrambler weighs in at 495 pounds. What made the scramblers add almost 50 pounds since then? Thanks for all the info guys/gals?

Hey Guys~
According to the July 1999 Dirtwheels, the 1999 Sport 400 weighs in at 479 pounds. That is the same as the 1994 and 1996 sports. At the Polaris Website, the 2000 Scrambler 400 2X4 weighs 501 pounds. They also state that the 2001 Scrambler 400 2X4 weighs 481 pounds. That's where I got my 20 pounds info from. I was wondering what was changed for 2001 to drop that 20 pounds? According to the 1996 polaris brochure, the scrambler 400 4X4 weighed 490 pounds. The Polaris website states the 2000 Scrambler 400 4X4 weighed 541 pounds. I'm citing all my sources so I can't be accused of making up info. Did the concentric drive add an extra 50 pounds? Or is ther other things taht added weight? Well, I hope you can follow all the numbers. I don't exactly have to know this, I guess I'm just curious. Thanks for the info!
