Default Question for Mike

Mike- Question referring to the rear caliper on the 200x.

I have been doing some light riding (front brake only), I had time to add on the rear brake assembly recently. As I filled the unit with brake fluid, and pumped the pedal, fluid was leaking out the back side of the piston (around the shaft sticking out the back. The piston does not move. Each pump you see a flow of brake fluid.

What do you think is the problem?

Thanks.

Sorry that my name isn't Mike, but I actually worked on the rear brake caliper of one of these today. You said fluid was leaking out the back of the piston, I'm assuming you mean by where the parking brake mechanism attaches. There is an o-ring that goes around the shaft of the piston. It's either damaged or not installed.

Default Question for Mike

Did not mean to be so dumb, I knew that but was buried in the depths of the mind. Spent last week in S. America with a bunch of corn and bean farmers, so maybe I had to much Chilean beer. Then when I got back, decided to finish the brake off.

Thanks, have one shipping to me.
