ok silly question time, can i throw my foam filters in the clothes dryer(hopefully wife wont find out) after im done washing them or maybe use a hair dryer on them or will it hurt the filters?

The best thing to do is to let them air dry. I always have a spare clean filter ready to go. The dryer may have a bad effect on the glue. Never been brave enough to try. If you give it a try, let me know how it turns out.

In the past when in a hurry I have used the hair dryer with no ill effects.

 

The cloths drier will beat it to death! The best solution is to have some extra filters on had, so you have a clean one available when you are in a hurry.

I have three for each machine: One on the bike, one in the wash, and one clean and oiled up and ready to go.

 

Welcome to the forum bubba1969, I have never done anything but let them air dry. Usually in the sun if possible. And like reconranger I have atleast a couple for each machine. Except I clean them all at the same time and put them in bags until i need them.

 

yes, outside in the sun is the best idea. I just hung mine on the antenna of my truck one day while i was outside
working, dried off in just a couple hours.

 

I'd be afraid wife would figure it out when all her clothes end up smelling like an airfilter.

Wring it out good, and it won't take long to dry. I usually wash mine first, then do the oil change, check the clutch, alignment, and whatever else is due, and reoil and replace the filter last. It is generally dry by then.

 

Another thing I do to get the as much water out of it as possible is to hold it by the inside and throw it down while holding it and more water will fall out of it. I dont actually throw it on the ground but pretend to while holding it.
