07 models

alright i know its kind far off still, but does any one have any hopes or speculation on any 07 models. Like what would replace the banshee, blaster or updates for the YFZ450 cause i have a feeling something should happen since the release of the LTR, or a huge update for the 350 like rebuilding the whole machine and building a 400 (one can only wish) but nothing aginst the 350 just seems a little out dated the concept at least. just would like your thoughts.

Here is my speculation.
YFZ 450: I think it will be EFI, wider arms and rear axle to compete with the LTR450. Others on this board think thats the worst thing you could do with regards to complexity and added weight. I think they would sell more of them if they had a 3" taller steering stem. I would have bought one if it felt comfortable.
700: I think they should add an O2 sensor in the exhaust for feed back, to eliminate the need for an aftermarket programmer when installin intakes and exhaust. I would like to see DOHC, but after all the time and money they went towards developing the new 686 motor, its doubtfull. The 700 IS the replacement for the Banshee. The rev limiter in reverse is annoying, but its one of those lawsuit prevention things that will probably stay.
Raptor 350: This is just a Warrior in sheeps clothing. ITs an intermediate bike for teen agers and MILFs. They wont upgrade it CC wise......the logical step up is the YFZ 450.
The replacement for the Blaster will be the YFZ 250....if it makes it to production.

I agree, sure hope they kick the 450 up a couple of notches. my son just bought a 06 450. they need to raise the steering stem up a bit more. I have 03 raptor, and love it. but i like the 450 also.the raptor is slightly more comfortable with the bar hight. I hope they don't for get the raptor 80 &50. needs updating really bad, compared to some of the other brands i've looked at ,with race suspension, nefr bars exhaust, handle bars. for about the same price or slightly more it's a better deal. but still a die hard yamaha fan always will be

The zuki 450 hasnt done a damn thing yet, and barely any consumers have them yet let alone have trail or race ride time on them. All this hype and not a damn thing to back it up, and you guys all think that the yfz is now in need of major upgrades? LOL, what a joke. Not everyone (read most riders) needs a 50" wide bike, especially when most Midwestern guys clip trees in the trails with 48 inch bikes. EFI isnt the end all and the yfz wil have it eventually, but to think it needs to it compete is ridiculous.
Expect some minor changes (read fixes) to the 700. Dont expect a blaster replacement with a yz250f engine but rather with the TTR250 engine for durability and better power distribution for a heavy atv instead of a lightweight bike. Eventually there will be a warrior replacement, possibly in the 400cc arena. With the death of the banshee this is more likely, but will be more geared towards recreational riding so as not to impede upon 450 sales.

I expect to see every Jap ATV line up being simular a few years down the road, just like the dirtbikes are. They will all consist of there own versions of a 450 MX quad, a Big Bore sport, a intermediate 400cc range trail quad, and a beginner quad. You might have some other manufacter's making some "nitch" quads much like KTM does with dirtbikes.

Just to make it clear, when I say the YFZ needs something to compete with the Suzuki 450, im speaking of marketing, and sales....you know, something that would make a potential buyer choose one over the other. Im not hyping the bike, just making a statement\opinion. Living in CA and riding wide open sand dunes in Glamis, and desert in Ocotillo wells, us Californians like em wide. Getting wide arms and axle from the factory is conveniant. I like EFI better than carbs. I think the YFZ needs a taller steering stem to fit my height of 5'11, which really isnt very tall. Those are my opinions, and they differ from yours(enjoy your joke).
That said, id never buy a Suzuki, and would rather get a YFZ and make the mods as I see fit.
