I am thinking about buying an phantom exhaust pipe and silencer for my blaster. My ? is that are they any good? I want a pipe that is good for the dunes which would be mid and top.

You want the truth about Blaster pipes?
Most "right hand bend" pipes seem to be better than the stock type left hand pipes. LRD is by far the favorite pipe of most Blaster racers, either woods racing or mx. The phantom seems to be a a good pipe at a good price. From what I've read, the phantom is a very good all around pipe, that works well with or without mods. The Toomey is a good dune type pipe that makes most of its power at higher rpm's. DG's are a good begining point, but when or if, engine mods are done, isn't the best overall pipe to get the most of the mods. Any aftermarket pipe is better than stock. (or at least most are) My son bought his Procircut pipe for 50 bucks from a neighbor. We had planned to buy a Phantom but could not pass that deal up. His Procircut is a good pipe. It makes its power somewhere mid range to almost top end. But it has changed the way my son rides. (he has to try and keep it somewhere in the mid range)
You might check some of the Blaster only fourms and see what is said, but I think you'll find the Phantom to be a good pipe.

I just put a Phantom on our Blaster, and had been running an FMF for a few years. As far as the difference in performance, it's hard to tell because I built a stroker motor with bigger carb etc, so yes it's faster....how much of that to attribute to the pipe I don't know. What I can say is that the right side design will keep it cooler and that's a factor with our wide-open dune riding, and the fit and finish is very good on the Phantom. The LRD pipes I understand you have to shave part of one of the head cooling fins off for it to fit.
This pipe does pull very good, just now getting the motor broke in, and I'm very happy with it. You can buy my old FMF on ebay and save a few bucks though too!
By the way if you want to see pictures of the Phantom installed I have a Project Dune Blaster thread over at dunereview.com.
