I have a 00 lt 80 that runs at low rpm great but when my son guns it it will irratticly bog down. also when riding all out and then letting off the throttle ,then giving it gas again it wont go very fast .I have rebiult the carb,replce the petcock,cleaned the air filter,new sparkplug and replaced bad gas cap. Please Help

Has it always run like that? Or did it recently start?

 

I don't recall I bought the bike used two years ago and it seem to run fine at that time. I have always had the throtle governed to about 60% .

 

I just recently removed the screw from the governer on the throtle and thats when this came about.

 

Do you know if the exhaust and carb restrictors have been removed?

 

I would clean the carb again. Remove both jets and clean. It sounds like a plugged main jet to me.

As far as I know the bike is stock the person I bought from hardly road it so I think the restricters are still in place and I will go ahead and pull both jets and clean. I will let you know. Thanks for the help

I cleaned the main jet, it seemed to be clean and I checked the pilot also made sure all the passages were clear.
It is sounds like it is not running real crisp at full throttle. I hope my terminoligy is good. Could it be my cdi or the reeds , how can you tell?

I checked the exhaust and carb both restricters are gone also the exhaust gasket is missing. will this cause me problems?
