This is a simple question, but one i need answering on. Stock for stock, which would you say is a better "mud-riding" quad, just curious on what most peoples opinions are on this.. Thanks for the replies.

I rode the 650 a while back and really liked it. It has more ground clearance great power and alot of accessories stock. Bumpers, skid plates, a arm guards etc...The 800 will beat it in a drag. I know AC is known for being real good in the mud. I watched alot of mudbogs and the AC came out on top most of the time with polaris being next. The AC is built very well. Not that the 800 is not but if you were to look at them side by side you can see the difference. And as far as I know the AC has had no major problems and very few minor ones. The 800 has had its share of problems. I think I would take the 800 over the 650 but the 650 over the 700.

The main reason i am asking this question is because i have a very good friend who owns an '05 Grizz but his dad bought an '05 AC 650 H1SE .. and he says that it would "SLAUGHTER" a Sportsman in the mud.. he says any size, and by the way they also have a lime green '05 AC 500 Auto, and he claimes its MUCH better than the SP 500, and he mainly talks about Mudriding.. so, i havnt been around AC's much, and from the way he is talking, AC's seem Superior to Polaris in the mud, and one of the main reasons i bought Polaris is b/c i like the way the AWD system works and how low that first gear is.. but yeah thanks for the replies.. Ac is very good in the mud. Polaris is known to be good int he mud too but I think the ac would come out on top. The only thing you can do is run em and shut em up or run em and shut up! If I were you I would ask them the time and place and see what happens.

Doesn't the AC have a limiter that will not allow 4WD operation above 10MPH??? or some such thing........I wouldn't be too happy about that.
I think the Polaris AWD switch-on-the-fly system works very well and is soooooo user friendly. You never have to stop, slow or worry about operating a locker lever. Heck you can leave the thing in AWD all the time if you want and it works seemlessly. I find it hard to beat.

i agree that the AWD system is better (although it is a matter of opinion), on an AC you can have it 4wd Limited Slip and go pretty much as fast as you want.. but in Locked 4wd you can only go 10mph which sucks in my opinion..
