yfz dyno readings. dirtwheels/2004-40.6hp/2006-33.03hp

And on CT racing web site they have a stockyfz making 36 hp. SO heres what im wondering in the 04 august dirtwheels they have the pipe shootout and most of them are makeing 46 to 47 hp. From there reading of 40.6 hp stock. which is about a six horse power gain to seven. well on ct web sit they are showing a there full system pipe making 48.1 hp but this is from there stock reading of 36 hp. so that is a 12 hp gain vs the 6-7hp slip on but the peak is still the same. im curious if the ct pipe would have been on the 2004 dirtwheels yfz if it would have been making 52hp at the wheels what do you guys think.

i cant really say if this is true or not cuz i dont work at ct or anything. but of a lot of companys will lower the stock hp reading so it looks like their pipe pulls more power out of the bike compared to other companys. more then likely no it would still have been 48 hp

This has been well discussed on here. Half the problem is dirt wheels sucks, and doenst no how to dyno. A lot of the 06 stuff is off in the specs. The dyno is off too. They used stock knobbies for one, and two, they are not the same tire, so the numbres are going to be inaccurate anyway. Third, the yfz was tied down wrong. It had close to NO vertical restraint, giving into wheel spin. Look at the trx, it was tied down properly giving it almost maximum vertical restraint!

It looks like I am making excuses, but trust me I am not. I am in the market for a new quad, so I am looking at all the reviews both on the internet and mags. There was a real good one over at atvscene. IF the ltr or trx prove them selves to out do the yfz, then I will probably go that route. I am not brand specific.
Do yourself the favor, and take what dirt wheels says with a grain of salt. they are misleading and sometimes Plain WRONG........just depends on the issue!
As far as those old numbers go......39 horse is about what the 04-05 yfz was making at the tires, with dyno tires on. You will pretty much find that number everywhere.

..............exriders is suppose to be coming out with a shootout of the two. They say the trx made 38-39, and the yfz made 40-41.....this was with dyno tires on the same dyno. This is for the 06 models
