heated grips dont work grrrr

Default heated grips dont work grrrr

while plowing the little snow we got yesterday i figured out that my heated grips dont work. the light comes on but they just dont heat up. i put the battery charger on it and then i fliped the swith from off to high to low. when i fliped it to low the battery charger boged some but on high it didnt bog at all any ideas?

what kind do you have, the big fat grips with the seperate control box, or the heater elements that slide inside the handlebars? Without knowing anything else, i'd have to guess that either a wire broke, or the heating element for high heat burned up in them.

yeah it the big fat grips not the heater that you slide underneath the stock grips. i got the test light out and tested the two wires that lead to the grips themselves from the control box and only lights up when on low. what bothers me is that they are only about a month old and have only used them maybe 2 times

so there's only 2 wires going to each grip? if that's the case you probably have a bad control box on your hands. I don't know what else it could be. I have the snowmobile grip heaters that go inside the bars, and instead of having the big control box, all there is is a single switch, and 3 wires to each heater. The only thing I don't like about these is you have to drill holes in your bars to run the wires through, which will weaken the bars.
