Oil Filters??
#1
Anyone know if the K&N oil filters are better quality then the OEM? Cross reference number lists the same filter for the DS and Outlander 330/400, this can't be right??
Anyone try the Amzoil oil filters? They claim a 2 micron filter.
ON a related subject, I noticed the Fram filters I use on my cars say 94% multi pass but also lists >20 microns?
Any other thoughts on filtering oil? Seems to me this is probably as important as the choice of oil. I use Rotella T synthetic and read where these interstate trucking companies get over 25-35,000 miles between changes but they use 2 micron filters and change twice between oil changes. I also see where Amzoil sells an exterior filtering system. A guy once told me he ran Amzoil for 100K without a change.

Price isn't an issue, filtering is though. I don't put enough hours on my quads to necessitate frequent changes so I'm more concerned with how well they filter. How are the scotts rated in terms of microns filtered? Decent fram oil filters are rated >20, those amzoil filters are rated at >3-4. quite a difference.
