Speed Limiter on Kodiak
#1
I was flipping through the owner's manual on my new Kodiak and I came to the section on the "speed limiter" which keeps the throttle from fully opening. The manual says not to open it past a certain point as it could cause damage to the throttle. Does anyone know if this is preset to the maximum appropriate setting? Or, is it some sort of speed limiting "larwyer" switch designed to protect them from me doing something stupid. I guess I'm just trying to figure out why (short of damaging my throttle) I wouldn't want this thing wide open.

Is it referring to the small screw, on the throttle houseing? Im not sure why they even do that, its a thing done on most kid quads, to limit how far they can move the throttle...why its on a 450 full size quad, im not sure.
I believe when its sticking out 1/2 inch, it allows ful movement, and i think it shows that in the manual too. To unscrew it past 1/2 inch, doesnt allow any further movement of the throttle (wide open is wide open), but you could stretch the cable or end up putting excessive wear on the throttle and cable.

That's the one. I just picked up the quad and was reading the manual at lunch today so I haven't had the chance to see what the factory setting was. I thought it was kind of an odd thing to have on a full sized quad myself.
