i don't know which is faster but i would pick my warrior any day for a long and fun trail ride..but ask a honda guy and he will tell you the other way around...it's all in what you ride

OK, i'll try to give you an unbiased opinion here... I said TRY.
For a smaller rider the 300ex has a few advantages, it's lighter, and easier for a smaller rider to throw around. And when it gets stuck the smaller rider won't throw their back out trying to get it out of a hole, like you would with a warrior (it's a tank compared to the honda).
The downsides of the 300 are that it's too small for bigger riders to be comfortable, it has a considerably lower top speed than the warrior, and the stock shocks are set up for lighter riders. I've heard of several instances of riders blowing out the front shocks on ex's because they were too hard on them. Oh, and it's the ugliest quad honda (or any other company) has ever built in my opinion.
Both are good quads, and I don't think you would be unhappy with either one, but i'd say bigger riders and wide open riders would like the warrior better, and small riders would be more at home on the honda.

I've owned both and feel the 300EX is the better overall between the two. For tight trail/woods riding the EX will pull away from the Warrior. I feel the 300EX is a better jumper too, having owned AND jumped both through the same trails.
For fireroads, railroad beds, or any open areas the Warrior is the better quad. Reverse is kind of a weird setup on both, but easy to use once you get used to it. The Warrior would sometimes be a pain to go into reverse when it got hot, which was never an issue on my 300EX.
It really depends on where the majority of your riding will be at. I liked both of them and if I had a chance to own either again I probably would.
I'm in the mdst of swapping/selling/buying too many vehicles now though.....
Just traded my '93 Warrior for an '87 Ford Ranger 4x4, 7" lift, 33x12.5 tires......selling my '03 Wolverine tomorrow for $3500........bought a '92 Nissan 4x4 last month......and may be trading my '85 XLS Harley for an '04 400EX this weekend.......Still have the '02 Super Glide though.
Right now I'm not sure what I'll have by my Bday in May when plates need renewed!
