Do any of you have reverse lights on your Vinson's. Is the bike wired for a reverse light? Do you know what the three or four wires hanging down above the left rear tire are for? I think they have female connectors on them I can't remember.

Go to the advanced search and type in reverse light and look at 05kingquad thats my old name it tells you everything you need to know even some trick lights from walmart

 

Yes, I do. See my piscs. Yes, it is wired for reverse lights. Two of the wires by the left rear tire are for reverse lights. One of the wires is hot when the key is turned on. Another wire is grounded when you shift into reverse.

 

Thanks for the input. I knew one of the three was hot when the key is on because I pluged a light into it one day when I was trying to figure out what they are for. I have a kimpex rear seat with a tail/stop light on it do I have to splice it into the existing stop/taillight wire.

Just cheat and feather the brakes, the brake light always provides sufficient light for me to back up at night

 

Yes, you will need to splice into the brake/tail light wires.

 

I found a pic of a vinson with the rear fender off and I could see where the stop/tail plugs in. Its just above the little storage trunk on the rear. I was thinking I could get a trailer wire pigtail and plug it in the same socket Then when I want to take the box off I could just unplug it.
