i was wondering about buying a 1999 450S for 1700 with vampires wondering of good deal or it was a bad year or if there are any preventive things i should do or problems i need to be aware of. THANKS for your help

 

With those agressive tires on it, watch for front end problems like wheel bearings.
The motor and tranny are about bulletproof, and if the motor doesnt smoke blue on start up...it was probably taken care of.
How much is he asking?

 

1700 dollars there is some scuffs on the plastic but when going througha crick it doesent matter[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

Nice bike I have a 1998 450s, pretty much bullett proof, especially the S as there are no electronics to fail for shifting. Front end problems are miminal, check the bearings by checking for play in all of the wheels, they can be bought at a bearing supply store much cheaper then at a Honda dealer, same for the seals. Other then doing the bearings, I replaced the stock battery last year and the rear brake linings. If the brakes were maintained properly they will be working fine and continue to work fine.
