Sand stars or sand sharks?
#1
I have a 300ex, totally stock, and was looking at these two tires for the rear. Most of the comments ive heard , are to get the sand stars. Are they that much better? Is there a diffeemce when resellling later?
And on the rim diameter...is bigger dia perferred over the smaller dia? Im looking to get 10 inch rims.
All responses are welcome.

Well hondabuster.....I've been told don't know if its fact or not but i've been told to stay away from Sand Stars unless i had a 400 motor or bigger..... i don't know if they make that big o' difference or not. and you might wanna look around for a good set of used sand sharks....we got us some for out 250ex for 90 with little wear on them. Either way you'll be happy they are both great! good luck and i haven't heard anything good 'bout geckos

I was concerned about being able to spin the tires, with only a stock 300ex, and sand stars. I like the looks, and they sure look like they will hook up good, but the fun of going to the dunes, is in the spinning and sliding and roosting (as much as a 300 will allow).
Thanks for the responses, anyone else?

Get the 8" rims. At higher tire speed, the more tire sidewall allows it to baloon up (picture a top fuel dragster tire) which then lessens your contact patch and drag. You will have higher top speed. The Stars are a good tire on most anything, and I think they could be a touch lighter in weight than the Sharks, and weight is everything.
