Holeshot Tire Question
#2
no one is going to really be able to tell you how good the MXR6 is because it was just released and only the top pros are riding on them. according to reports and advertisements, the MXR6 rear tire is supposed to have a stiffer carcass, so the tire will maintain its flat profile in fast, aggressive cornering and won't flex as much as the MXR4 rear tire. The MXR6 front tire is being advertised, just as the MXR4 front was two years ago, as having a longer-wearing tread pattern, "which means more motos between replacements."
I rode the MXR4s last season, and like them, but they seemed to wear very quickly. I am still on those tires from last season, but am contemplating a switch to Razr MX's this season.
If you're a die-hard ITP tire-guy, I'd also suggest checking out the HD tire and the SX tire.
