Question for FloodRunner or anyone about sp 700 efi
#1
I just bought an 05 Spotsman 700 EFI. I have noticed that on your sig. you have a few mods don to yours. Reverse overide, Fan Indicator light, and a Coolant temp gauge. Can you explaing and maybe send me pics on how to do these mods? I have been told that on the EFI model you can't overide the reverse/rev limiter because its build into the computer itself. Thanks for anyhelp that you or anyone may give me.

There a 2 ways to over-ride the reverse limiter.....
I have done both....
My suggestion is simply a toggle switch that allows you to toggle the over-ride off when someone else rides your machine......
Here is what I have for you!
A factory looking (looks like the tail-light switch) On/Off toggle switch. If you look at the inside of your headlight pod, you will see cut-outs for positioning the switch. If you do not want a factory looking switch.... any toggle switch will work.
You need to simply tap into.... DO NOT CUT THROUGH! ..... but tap into the brown wire to your accessory plug on the bottom of the headlight pod with a short piece of wire....and attach this to one end of the toggle switch.... The other end of the toggle switch gets attached.... again splice into DO NOT CUT THROUGH.... the grey/orange wire going to the speedometer head. Do not get too close to the speedpmeter head just in case the wire breaks.... Remember.... the light grey with an orange stripe.... This will allow you to turn it on ON DEMAND! It will over-ride the rev limiter, it will activate the AWD if the AWD switch is on, and also not allow you to use your yellow button to toggle through the functions. By simply turning the switch to OFF.... It will be like returning your ATV back to stock.....
I have done this to over a dozen units already....
The only thing that it may affect... is the trip meter..... it may reset the trip if that function is left on when it is activated....
I also have diodes for the 3-way headlight mod, and a factory looking hand warmer toggle switch....
If you are interested... PM me and I can put a price together for what you want?
The switches run about $10.00 and the diodes are around $1.00 plain, but I could dress it up with the correct wires and make it into a kit.....
