85 yamaha moto-4 80cc
#1
ok, bought a really nice 85 yamaha for my daughters first bike and trying to get it going before she comes to see me next weekend. I pulled off the rearend and all the gears were good. replaced all the bearings and seals and grease trying to find the loud squak when taking off and stopping but didnt do any good, pulled the mid-shaft and the gears looked great. so I'm not thinking its tranny problems, plus it shifts great. my next guess would be the clutch pack?I tried adjusting it out and it helped a tiny bit but not much. would it make a loud squall if it were bad? any help would be appreciated. the motor sounds and runs great and the rearend doesnt click, so now if I figure this out I'll have a great little quad. its 20 years old and doesnt even have any cracks in the plastic. so I dont want to give up on it if you know what I mean. thanks

yeah checked the brakes, and checked the clutch, its neither, I'm ordering all new bearings and seals for the rearend tomorrow hopefully that will take care of it, I'm pretty shure its the bearings now. all the gears looked good, none were broken or had any chips or wear spots on them. so it has to be bearings.
