I have a 05 sp700. Im looking at the 27" xtr mud lites with 14" wheels or the 28" mud lites on 12" wheels. which tire packege shoud I go with? Will I need a lift for the 28" tires? Also will a clutch kit balance my power with the bigger meat? Thanks for any help yall can offer.

I just went with the 27" XTRS and I love them. I stayed with the 12" being that they are better for mud bogging being that they have more air volume. The 14" are better for trail riding they have stiffer sides. I got my 4 27" XTR's shipped to the door for 400.00. This may not be the cheapest out there but it was the cheapest that I found.

Just my 2¢

Do the Mudlite XTR's only come in 27in size? If so, that sucks...

From what I gather they come in other sizes but 27" is the biggest as of now.

robedoll-- any rubbing with the 27" xtrs? I can get 14"itp wheels, tires, caps and nuts for 729 $ delivered. If i go with 12" wheels I might try to stick with 28"for the mud and switch to my stock 26" radials for the trail. Any change in your low end power with the tire size increase?

Thanks

I have noticed absolutley no change at all in the power dept. I do not have problem with rubbing. I went with a 9" front wheel instead of the factory 8" therefore the front wheels are close to the tie rod ends but thats all. You can see some pics HERE

Just ordered a set of the 27 inch XTRs as well for my 05 700. makes your bike look crazy btw. Just wondering how close the front tires get to the tie rod ends, it looks really close but can't exactly tell from the pics. Glad to hear that you haven't had a rubbing issue either. I always thought my fronts were 9 inches wide til I saw this thread.
