With jetting aside, run good premix oil and do plug checks before any major trips. We have a Banshee in our riding group that is ported and piped. We have run it for the last 4 years without a top end rebuild. All we do clean the air filters, re-jet, change the oil, and run good pre-mix oil.

I rebuilt my banshee every two seasons just because I wanted two. As previously stated a properly jetted and taken care of banshee will last a long time. And, when you do the top end its pretty cheap and easy in comparison to a 4 stroke if you do just rings.
