**Another Polaris Break Down Here (You Dont Look Surprised)
#1
Yet another saga in my journey with this POS Polaris Went out to start my bike today and the fuel pump isnt turning on? I checked the 4 breaker/fuses under the front pannel.. I ran two jumper wires both ground and the hot wire right to the fuel pump and still nothing? The bike was running ok the last time I rode it and was ok when I parked it.. But now the fuel pump wont turn on.. There is power getting to the Hot wire when you turn the key on, it lasts for about 2 sec. then power shuts off.. Im guessing that would be the initial prime of fuel to the injectors... IS there anything I might be overlooking and can you replace just the sending unit or do you have to get the whole tank?
thanks in advance!

If your getting power to the pump, and it's not working, then it's probably toast.
Before condemning it, I'd take it out of the tank and rap on it while power is applied, just to see if something small is caught in the impeller. Spray it out with carb cleaner, or try to disassemble it to see if it's just something stupid, first.
I looked on Ronnies , and it's showing that the pump is sold only with the tank for $429...
BUT CALL THIS # FIRST!! (208) 463-4411 Their website is showing one for $20!! But I'd ask if that includes the fuel pump (maybe not).

Ridgerunners only has the tank for the 2005 MY and doesn't include the sender. It is a great source for certain parts though. I have an order on the way right now.

thanks guys!
one more thing, the sending unit is attached in the tank by phillips screws.. so im guessing its removalble? on the polaris parts manual it shows it as seperate assembaly that just slides in and attaches with the screws?? right???

Yeah, I'd take those screws out and pull that thing out of there. Just be careful not to damage the gasket -- try to get the gasket to come up in one piece. If it doesn't, you'll need to put a thin layer of sealer on there.

dont know if anyone cares, but it was a broken wire on the fuel pump inside the tank..
thanks for the replies as usual..
