Default new buyer of mv7

I am looking for accessories for my mv7. I bought the utility cargo bags, but they don't fit. Is their one made for the mv7? I also bought the gear grip by Kolpin but I have to drill holes for the screws, I'm afraid that rust will start to appear. I also need a good cover, not a cheap one, that will tear the first time I use it. Can anyone give me some advice. Thanks, so far I'm enjoying my mv7, I hope I don't have any regrets!!!!

I saw one riders MV7 which was all decked out in military surplus. The MV7 had surplus green 50 caliber amo cans mounted to the racks two on each side and a few on the back. It looked great and they are waterproof and very tuff. Some still look like new if you can find the right ones.

If you need to bolt stuff through the rack go to the local hardware or farm store and find some flat steel fender washers and matching rubber ones. Put the rubber ones between the steel ones. This will help against moisture, corrrosion and vibration.

I don't know if polaris makes any factory accesories except green handguards or a windshield.

Moose makes a good strong cover, they are sold through parts unlimited.

the ammo box idea is a good one. all you have to do with holes is seal them up someway. that washer/rubber idea sounds like the best.

Rattlesnake,

Glad to read your first post, and welcome to the Forums! No, you made no mistake with your purchase. Just looked at one the other day; best Ute quad hands down Rattlesnake. I hope you can get some pictures up.

You may be able to find some ammo boxes at a gun show. Do you have them down there in Texas (LOL).

Try a search for an Army foot locker and add waterproof to your search crireria. That may look/work good. I was in the Infantry and think a couple sholder packs would look good too. Maybe a couple webb belts we used to hang our crap on would strap on nice too (canteens, folding shovel, poncho, clips, mess kit, 1'st Aid Kit, and gas mask) LOL.

It's not like those racks don't have space enough or capacity for that matter LOL. And don't forget the foam bed roll! You see I loved the Army and proudly trained at Fort Benning, Ga in 1979. Just ask yourself... what would the Army do to this beast? They have it all figured out on how to load or Combat load/on unloading priority. The same rules to loading apply, ordnance or domestic. In this case it's just in efficient outdoor rugged load of nice-to-haves to best figure out.

I must say I'm surprised the bags you bought don't fit because of all the D-rings on those racks? Or do I just think I remember seeing them? I would think you could tie off to them.

I doubt you could find a cover for that beast. You may want to find a good boat shop that does good canvas work and have one custom made.

I just did a Google Image search with "Polaris MV7". That thing is awsome! The pic's just don't do it all the justice as seeing in person.

In the end, have fun and do it your way Rattler.

Thanks, I'll try the army ammo can or I'll have someone weld some round tubing and make my own rack after all it's not like the mv7 can't carry the weight. lol I want something that I can tie the bags to and also remove when I want to. We do have lots of gun show in Texas [lol] too many sometimes, that it's the same one over and over again! boring Thank I'll send pictures when I get it fitted with the accessories I want . I priced a custom cover for the mv7 $800.00 at a canvus place , I'll keep shopping for one I'll find something. Thanks again
