Default 2006 500 EFI WONT KEEP CHARGE

I have 101 miles on atv and no problems but i shut it off 2 days ago and the fan kept running so i shut the key off 2 times and it quit. But that afternoon it was dead no juice. I charged it and it fired up. But when i let it sit a few hours its dead again ?? Any ideas on how and what to check

I'd say that it's time to test the warranty service at your dealer. There is a well know problem with a batch of fan relays, normally they don't come on and it over heats.

If you're handy with a multi meter you can check the amount of current draining out of the battery when it's off. But if it's dead in two days, it won't take a rocket scientist to find the problem.

The fan motor draws a huge amount of amperage. If the battery was not fully charged during dealer prep (alot of the time, they'll just toss the acid in and ship her out....usually @ big, high volume dealerships), then that would kill it in a hurry, regardless of how well the charging system is.

I'd give the battery a good overnight charge and see what happens from there. Should stay around 12.6- 12.8 volts 1 hr after charge is stopped.
