I am currently looking at buying a polaris hawkeye 4x4 and noticed that the artic cat 250 is almost the same. big differences locking front diff on polaris, 50cc bigger polaris, IRS polaris, auto polaris. the one thing that I like about the artic cat is that rate now it comes with a two year warrenty. any opinons on which is the better quad would be helpfull.

 

i thought the cats had a 3 year warranty? and well i think the polaris would be better then the lil 250 cat in every category except reliability. why not look at the 400 cat and get locking front diff and all that stuff and have everything better then the polaris?

 

Check the Polaris forums about the Hawkeye, apparently there are some serious problems.

 

You've got your facts a little mixed up.

The 2006 Arctic Cat 250 is a 2x4, automatic, and straight axle.

The 2005 and older Arctic Cat 250 came in 2x4 or 4x4, had a auto clutch (not sure if it's 3 speed or 5) and they both come with IRS.

The two are very different machines.

It was a 2003 model. I also found out that you can only modify the 2001 and older machines to have a locking front diff. I also found out that this bike is 4x4 all the time which I assume would make it alot harder on gas. Sorry for the confusion.

 

I would love to but the only one in my area and its a 2005 le and the dealer wants $8400 can. The same dealer has a 2003 3004x4 which he wants only $6000 and it still comes with a 2 year warrenty! I thought that this sounded like a smokin' deal. what do you think for the price diff is it worth it, and is that a good deal on the 300 thankx for the help.

 

A good deal??????????? You can come here to MN, and get a 2006, 650V2 AC for 6400!! That dealer sounds like a rip off. 8grand for a used 400?????????????????????? Hes nutts Oh, its Can. What is the conversion? I thought it was U.S. money rates. Thats what got me excited

 

they are both brand new machines, just left overs.

 

Buy one of these if you get the 250 4x4.

about 3 weeks ago the conversion rate was .18 cents on the dollar. and V2 you got yours for 6400? that was a really good deal
