How to adjust your chain ... by Your self ? ? ?
#1
Hey Guys,
I just upgraded to the 520pitch chain and sprokets and was wondering how can I adjust the chain by my self.
I think last time I just stacked like 200lbs of crap on my seat bounced the rear up and down to get a good sag point then set the slack per the manual to get a good ball park figure....
Is there any better way to do it ?
Thanks

Attach a strap from the grab bar to the center of your swingarm. Sit on the bike and then take up the slack with your strap. Get off the bike and tighten the chain. The strap should hold the tension of the shock. Hope you understand what Im saying.

All I used to do is adjust it, then sit on it, make sure there was still some slack while I sat on it. If not, then move it out a tad, sit on it again ..... repeat until adjusted correctly.

Thanks guys,
The strap idea is pretty good. You can set it to your current Sag point...and do the work I need to. Smart ! ! !
As I have lost a few pounds and it will be a bit higher now.
Now anybody know how can I get my DS to go faster with out spending any money ?
I cleaned the Airfilter, did a oil change, lost 25lbs off both my bike and *** but still looking for more speed !
Any other good ideas ?

The only way I know how to get a DS to go any faster without spending any money is to throw a lighter jockey on the bike.
