Default Help me quiet down my DS 650!

I recently bought a 2002 DS 650. It has a white brothers R-4 slip-on exhaust on it. I like the power it gives me, but It is just way too loud, Is there a pipe out there, that still gives me good power, but isn't so loud? Also, Would I have to rejet If I were to get a new performance-oriented, but quiter exhaust? Thanks! -JW Also, where can I find mods for my quad? I'm having some trouble. Thanks again!

Well, since your gonna have to buy another full pipe, CT makes a very good pipe for all around hp and has the tuneable disk for an endcap.

First of all welcome. The LTE Duals are quieter but pretty pricey. Over $600... you might be able to get away with not rejetting but chances are that you will have to. One option is if you are jetted for no air box lid you could put the lid back on and see if that does it. Or if you have a K&N or high flow filter you could put a more restrictive filter back on. The premise is that you will be flowing less exhaust so you need to flow less intake.

There are lots of places to get performance parts:
ondunes.com
fullthrottlejunkies.com
hpresearch.net
gopartsdirect.com
thebomracing.com

How much do you want to spend? That will determine how fast you go.

Welcome to the Forums!

I really like that LTE dual system. So that will help me quiet it down? I probably will end up re-jetting it. Also, Thanks for the warm welcome! -JW

Absolutly... it has two cans so it reduces the sound significantly. It was designed for sound sensative areas... plus it just looks sick!

There is also the HMF quiet core... but performance will not touch the LTE's. If you got the scratch I would definetly go LTE... in fact I don't even care about sound levels and I would love a set... I don't know if they would work with my battery relocation though. Other than that you could go back to the stocker, but you would sacrifice all that extra power. My vote is for LTE. Good luck.

One thing to look at with the LTE's is the airbox removal....i think you have to run no airbox with those pipes.

Yup, DuneRider is right on that... I forgot to mention that. I run no box, but I ride dunes mostly.
