I have recently upgraded my 99 Sportsman 500 non HO to a big ITP wheel kit.The ATV now has no power out of the hole. I've been informed that I need to install a clutch kit. What brand is the best and do I need just a spring kit or is the new helix important as well. The engine is stock, although I'm looking for a good exhaust system (any ideas). I ride the ATV on woods trails most of the time. Thanks

 

Get a polaris white primary spring. As for exhaust systems, take a look at the DG Stage 3 Xcellerator, Big Gun EVOx, or Pro Circuit T-4.

 

I'd suggest an EPI utility or EPI big foot..

 

I asked my dealer the same thing for my 03 sportsman and he said that theres so many cominations of things to do meaning spings,weights,etc that there almost not worth it.he began to tell that he tried making his own kit and i think he said he tried about 15 different ways and put 38 man hours in and every result(bought a radar gun)was very little low end if any and every run with the kit he lost an average of 2-5 mph SLOWER than stock.he finally bought one and wasn t very satisfied.just my 2cents.but i still would get as many PROFESSIONAL and rider opinions as possible.im still considering getting one but who knows.good luck.sorry for ramblin on

 

Heelclicker makes a kit for the big tires that is highly recomended.The EPI big foot kit will help too.
You will need springs and different weights to get your power back.
