Default 2006 sportsman fuel gauge

just wondering if anyone has had trouble with their fuel gauges on the 2006 sportsmans. I have 2 new sportsmans and both of my fuel gauges do not seem to be working. The tank can almost be empty and it will still register as full on the gauge.

The gas gauges don't work right on any of them. Mine says its full until tank is half empty or below. I've read posts from other people having the same problems.

Best to do it the old fashion way, open the tank and look.

My kid has a trail blazer, he takes the seat off and you see how much gas there is through the tank .

I guess it would be difficult to get a reading while moving (tank slap and all that stuff), but shouldn't the gauge be accurate while the bike is sitting still?

its just like alot of motorcycles, the gauge doesnt read true. my 800 reads kinda of funny. im going to bring some gas w/ me to run and find out how many miles i can go before i run out. of course that doesnt help if your running hard all the time.
