As you guys all know BRP promised to bring out a new atv every year for like the next couple years. well it is something like that. That is why you see the new outlander 800 and the DS250. Well from what my dealer has informed me he was called to check out this new atv in may. he tells me it will be a sport quad but didn't know if it will be 450 or if they will use the 800 engine and put it in a sport frame. I don't think it will be a 450 because rotax does not make a 450 right now.

Have you guys hear anything about the new quad???

 

It's no secret Rotax has built motors for the Italian made Aprilia mx bikes. Last year Aprilia came out with a 450 v-twin motorcycle. My guess is that it will be something similar to that. That would rock.

 

The first week in May we will know for sure but be ready for what BRP calls their biggest intro in ATVing.

My dealer friend knows someone high up who said be ready for their biggest intro ever in the ATV bus. I race GNCC's on a Bomb 800 and was looking for factory support, the area rep told me I should send my application in for racing sport quads. He said this because they will looking for racers to compete on a new sport atv soon to be released!

My guess it will be one of the following prototypes they are playing with.
Clean burning EFI 450 two stroke twin
DS 450 EFI 4-stroke twin
DS 1000 EFI
DS 800 EFI
Outlander 1000 EFI

 

ds800... yummy. Now im gonna have that on my mind for a while. The baja race's have to be carb instead of EFI? I think BRP said like 10months ago that they will come out with a new or improved model every 6months for the next 2yrs? Can't wait til MAY!

 

Big Bore 2-stroke!!! Takes me back to 1987 and my lt500 "Quadzilla". Tons of torque and weighing a dang sight less than 450 lbs..

Probably be a 4-stroke so it can race the YFZ, 450R, LT450R. Would be nice to see Bombardier kicking butt in MX circuits.

Not to be a nay sayer, and I'm not trying to be a dick... but I'll believe it when I see it. Last time we all got fired up they gave us the DS250... what a ground shaker that was. I'm sure it will be something cool but until we see it I don't believe the hype. We've heard everything from an EFI DS650 to a blowout DS800 to a race ready 450... no one really knows, and anyone who says they do, bought that line of BS their dealer with all that so called inside info was spewing. I wish I could post a link all the posts where someone had the inside track from their tied in dealer. Remember that 2 stroke 250? Oh yea that turned out to be a 400lb 250 4 stroke. I'll say it again - UNTIL I SEE IT I DON'T BELIEVE IT. Sorry to be a buzz kill but I had to get that out... there I feel so much better now. Late.
