Now that is what you might call a quad. Should have pleny of power to keep the wheels spining up the hills....

Maybe it will be a DS800R. With the new 800R sled motor. Who knows, cvt or will they mount a tranny? They'll shave a ton of weight from the DS650 and mount it in there.

This is by no means correct info, but wouldn't it be cool?

Well since BRP has gotten angry over some of the things I have posted here before, I will post what I would like them to build....

450 Class quad with EFI would be nice. Don't count on the Arpilla V-Twin making it into that class though. The motor itself is physically close in size to the 650, and since it's been several years now hearing about the 400-450 4-stroke as well as the earlier twin cylinder 400 2smoker from a few years back. It generally takes 3 years to develop a motor from the ground up, so despite Rotax not having a motor now, doesn't mean one is not in the works.

Big bore, now this is a want, considering what is possible with the Outy, I would like to see a 700+cc quad, with a modified trailing arm rear suspension with the sprocket setup like the Outlaw instead of a diff, both to save weight and make gearing changes possible. Keep it in the 400-450LB range and you would have the fastest ride in the desert. I know during testing the modified Outy 800's were way faster than their straight axle counterparts. This would be the lighter version...

I would not be surprise to see the 800 in a sport frame. since they just developed it and they said they will have a new atv every six months. it will be quick and easy for them to just take the 800 and put it in a DS Frame. Instead of developing a new motor and different setup for the mx track. I just hope they keep the DS wrap around seat !!

A DS800 Auto does seem to be a no brainer. Something to compete with the KFX700 and it wouldn't require much R&D to stick the 800 Auto into the DS Chassis. Would I buy it. . . Nope! I like my manual and that isn't the direction I'm looking to go.

I've heard the 800's are FAST though so, the DS Chassis would lighten it up (yeh, that's hard to believe) and make it even quicker than its Ute Brother.

I think there is a place for this quad but, I'ld be disappointed to see this be their answer to the sport quad market.

Put a manual tranny on that 800 and we're talking a whole different story!

I hope BRP reads this and thinks hard.

The ds 650 has upgrades that are super competitive. It seems like there isnt too many DS's on the mx track. There are some xc racers and a few handfulls of desert ds racers. In My opinion, If BRP doesnt come out with a big/or powerfull motor in a light chassis comparable to the 700r but with much more power they will hit the jackpot. This is what its gonna take to sell mass quantities. If they just stepped out of the box and built an all out monster they would see sales go sky high. I personally think there is a bigger market for the avaerage Dune rider and drag racer, of course the trail rider too. If they just come out with something like the LT450 then it might do OK. But there are more and more bombs being exposed at the 300ft tracks and on the big hills than anywhere.JMO

The upgrades are already up to severe hp with reliability for the ds. Id rather spen money beefing up an 800cc sport quad in a lighter frame than to have to start with all new R&D for the smaller motor. It would take years to get the motor upgrades in the big leagues.
