Default Raptor 700 Bars and Risers

Looking at trading the Prairie 650 for a Raptor. I was sitting on a new limited edition yellow, very hot looking machine. The only issue was the handlebar position seemed very low for aggressive stand-up riding. Does anyone else find it the same, and what's everyone using for aftermarket bars and/or risers?

You can put a taller aftermarket anti-vibe steering stem like a +2 for a Yfz 450 on a Rap. 700. Made a huge difference on mine, plus a set of Pro-Taper's. You will have to run a longer clutch cable and a brake cable from the master cylinder down to the steel line. Just do not use a MOD QUAD brand brand of stem like I did the first time. POS!!!!!

I had the same issue , all i did was buy an extra set of the little "bridge clamps" that hold the bars to the stem , put them underneath and it raises the bar by 3/4 inch approx . Made a heap of difference and only cost me $10 .

Great bike anyway ....makes my Bomb seem slow , although the comfort and handling of the bomb outdoes the raptor ...well at least till i put my hands in my wallet !!!!

cheers

I've got the trail tech clamp kit with med rise X-bars, and it gave it a great feel without changing cables or lines. You can go with a high rise bar if you change lines and cables. Or just get a +2 steering stem, (nice, but expensive, and you'll still have cable issues).

How much height did you gain over stock?

How tall are you? Im 5'11" and the Raptor is perfect for me. I felt the way you do about the YFZ 450. I was gonna buy a 450 but it was uncomfortable.

I only gained about 3/4 -1" over stock, but it made a lot of difference in the feel.

I'm 6'5 and ride a 450 =p. Pain having such low bars. Hard to make real sharp turns without hitting my knee or legs. Id go with a +4 stem if it was possible lol =p. Wow that would look funny =p

I'm only 5'9", but it still felt low to me.
